OXFORD SUMMER COURSE
The Oxford Summer Course is an initiative taken by Mr. Harry Hoare, an Oxford University alumnus, who wanted young students to get a taste of the Oxford way of learning. Two students, Ms. Rhea Menon and Ms. Shrusti Khemkar from Grade 9 got the invaluable opportunity of attending the course – all thanks to the initiative taken by the school management to subsidize the fees (upto 70%) for the program. This course was held at Prudence International School, Panvel, from 12th May- 21st May 2017. It proved to be an unforgettable ten days for the students. The boarding facility was provided by the organizers and our students interacted with students from other schools.
Many sessions were conducted in subjects ranging from creative writing to literature. They also analyzed the works of some of the greatest literary giants and also were exposed to different media like short films, movie clips, and role play – to name just a few. The highlights of the program were two extensive workshops in Film Writing and Business and Entrepreneurship which included activity on starting one’s own business venture.
It was not all work and no play as students were taken for a day trip to Adlabs Imagica and there were campfires that were organized.
All in all, it was a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience for the students and this certification will also add value to their academic profile.
